YEU is very proud to announce that our president Matej Manevski has been re-elected to the Advisory Council on Youth of Council of Europe for the mandate 2018-2019.
“My personal motivation to continue being part of the Advisory Council is to carry forward the processes I have worked on, and to dedicate my efforts towards the processes that are currently run in the youth department of the Council of Europe. More specifically, as at the end of this year (which is also the end of the current mandate) the NoHateSpeech Movement campaign is finishing, I would like to assure that there will be a proper closure of it, taking out the results and ensuring that they are practical and useful for the youth organisations. To follow up on this, I would also like to put a special attention on the continuation of the Human Rights Education Youth programme, including media literacy with children and young people, and on supporting youth participation in Internet Governance processes (taking into consideration the results of the NHSM campaign evaluation)” says Matej.
Matej’s priority in next mandate will be youth work: “Now as the recommendations for youth work are developed, I want to assure space and recognition of the youth work provided by the youth organisations within the implementation process”.
As one of the main focus of YEU International is working for quality youth work and non-formal education, we would be very motivated to follow and contribute towards this portfolio within the next mandate. In this journey, YEU is looking forward to cooperating with other youth organizations elected for the mandate, but also with those who will not be part of the AC because we want to ensure that the voice of young people and organizations is heard in institutions and Member States.
