InterActive Train makes Leszno open for street animation
InterActive Train had a great influence on people in Leszno. After busy August 2010 Centre for Creative Activity from Leszno, Poland started to seriously think about activating local youth by attractive methods like street animation. During our local activities – 3 week international workcamp and a campaign – which were part of the overall train we realised that this kind of work is very needed here.
Thanks to our wonderful volunteers from CAT and CIM Horizonty we made it possible! Lots of kids and youngsters enjoyed their time with crazy volunteers! In addition, our local municipality asked us to organise it also in 2011. We have already the draft programme and first financial contribution form local municipality and sponsors. Till now we have also 10 international applications from volunteers who wants to come and make it even more better than last year. We are very happy for that.
Furthermore thanks to CID Kumanovo FYROM/Macedonia we also had opportunity to learn how to make street animation on local level. An animator Vesna Gjurkovska was visiting us for few days who thought us to make flash mobs, free hugs, youth machines etc.
We decided to share this knowledge with other people. For International Day of Volunteering (which we had to celebrate on 8th of December 2010) we decided to show the local people how volunteering has changed our life and how important it is for us.
One small action can change your community! Now our youth is coming with new ideas and crazy local actions. This all started from the train…
