Working Together to Stop Bullying
We are happy to announce to you that we are going to start a new project! It is called Working Together to Stop Bullying. Who are the organisations involved in this project? There are four organisations which will develop it: MOJU from Portugal, CID from North Macedonia, APY from Armenia and YEU International from Belgium.
The aim of this project is to fight against all sorts of bullying among young people which takes place mainly in schools and high-schools, but also in their local environments and online platforms. Two of the organisations involved in this project are based in countries in which the phenomenon of bullying is tackled and recognised by the national institutions (Portugal and Belgium). However, this is not the case of Armenia and North Macedonia. Thanks to this project, the methods used in the two former countries will be applied in Armenia and North Macedonia.
How is the project going to be developed? There will be several phases. First, a comparison between the four countries will be done to identify the gaps and problems in the response given by the national institutions. Then, the partners will share the best practices from their respective countries to improve the response to bullying phenomena. After that, 24 teachers and youth workers will be trained to recognise and tackle this problem. This will allow an increase in awareness in schools, young organisations and institutions. Finally, this will have a multiplier effect through the help of teachers who will help their colleagues to recognise and fight bullying problems, spreading the practices learnt by the 24 teachers.
The main outcome of this project will be an online platform in which the methods to tackle bullying used during the project will be shared. This platform will be updated with new content. The goal of this platform is not only to collect information about this project but to become a referent at the European level. Teachers and youth workers will have access to it to learn new methods to fight against the bullying problem.
