Open Badges for Interns in YEU Administrative Office
Closing a long-term process of developing various Systems and set of Badges as the main outcome of the European Badges Alliance (EBA) project, YEU is officially using the International Placement Set of Badges.
Focusing on the learning path and development of young people, YEU is closing the testing period of EBA Badges Systems and proceeds to further implementation of Open Badges in all possible YEU activites and processes. With a clear stand in actively supporting Open Learning Badges and recognising the benefists of using this tool, the Adminstrative Office presented the Set to the 4 interns the Office is currently hosting. Incorporating all feedback collected during the testing phase and by finishing last visual changes, we officially have our YEU-created Intenational Placement Set of Badges.
With the overall target to assist the interns to recognise their learning, which takes place during their placement, our 4 interns have started this process of using Open Learning Badges. With a variety of tasks and their choice of suitable evidences, participants can self-reflect, discuss and aknowledge this process which focuses on capacity building and personal developmnet. Beyond possible benifits related to their future careers, they also get to understand what they actually learn during this period, but also how to explain it.
Connecting the learning even more to self-reflection and putting the learner into a process of discussion, collection of feedback and observation of each process, fosters the connection of the experience to the actual learning process. Therefore giving a possible answer to a question of "What am i learning and how did i develop during this time".
