Kids_Actions project starts next year!
Next year YEU International is starting a new project called Kids_Actions. The project’s aim is to tackle the problem of cyberbullying among children and teenagers by using different methods such as interactive activities and gamification. The approach is based on both formal and non-formal education.
With the recent incorporation of new technologies in children and teenagers’ life, the risk of suffering from a cyberbullying attack has increased. Despite all the benefits that the Internet has brought to adolescents, if it is used with malicious intent, it can be very dangerous. Bullying problems online have gained ground through mean-spirited messages sent anonymously most of the time using mobile phones, computers or other electronic devices. This problem can have long-term consequences in the development of children and adolescents. This is why Kids_Actions tackles this issue.
The five organisations taking part in this project are: Fondazione Bruno Kessler, Provincia Autonoma di Trento; Amnesty International - Sezione Italiana Onlus (from Italy); European Schoolnet; and Youth for Exchange and Understanding (from Belgium).
The expected outcome of the project is to raise awareness of this situation and empower young people to recognise and react effectively against it when they encounter it. To do so, an online platform will be built, and fun education tools and toolkits will be developed. These instruments will help and encourage adolescents and victims to denounce cyberbullying attacks when they happen.
