First-ever YEU General Assembly!

On December the 12th the YEU General Assembly took place. For the first time in the history of YEU, it was celebrated online. Despite this, it was a complete success! Almost 50 participants from our 28 YEU Member Organisations voted on the 2020 YEU reports and plans for 2021.
Participants joined at 10am CET to listen to the welcome speech of our president João Dias. One of the most entertaining parts was the amusing YEU Quizz, led by Vlada and his hilarious sense of humour. Right after the approval of the Agenda Adoption and Minutes from the 2019 GA, members suggested ideas and activities to be done in the future in the context of COVID-19 through a Jamboard document.
Our Vice-President Nami Isaki went through the YEU Report 2020, where all the projects and events that took place during 2020 are gathered. It is quite surprising how despite the outbreak of COVID-19 we managed to continue with the projects! Next, we created different breakout rooms where the outcomes of the Working Groups were explained to the participants.
After a well deserved virtual break where some videos from the GamifyEU project were played, we proceeded with the vote to add new members to YEU’s network. We are so glad to welcome Soli Jugend from Germany, Youthfully Yours from Slovakia, and Magnet House from Serbia! In addition, Mladinski Centre BIT from Slovenia became a full member of YEU.
To close the event, the trainers Dragana and Matej led us all through the creation of the Strategic Plan 2022-2025. They collected the participants’ answers and ideas using the Mentimeter application in an entertaining and amusing way.
As every year, we are very happy with the outcome of the General Assembly! The YEU family remains strong even during difficult times, but nothing will stop us!
