Cerebra had coffee with foreign ambassadors to Bosnia and Herzegovina
Some of our main activities during May were “Coffee with…”, which is an online discussion space and platform of dialogue with foreign ambassadors and head of international missions in our country that aims to promote open discussion and gives a chance to understand international relations first-hand from people that are in important positions and have knowledge and experience about it.
As you know, in April we started with this activity where we had six “coffees”. We continued this activity in May, and we had coffees with, H.E. Eric Nelson, the ambassador of United States in Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Ingrid Macdonald, the ambassador of United States in Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Reinout Vos, the resident coordinator of United Nations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Johanna Strömquist, the ambassador of Sweden in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and H.E. Johann Sattler, the head of Delegation of European Union in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During the one hour talk with ambassadors, participants had an opportunity to find out what it’s like to be an ambassador and which are the current activities of the embassies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, having in mind the current epidemiologic situation and global pandemic, and how their countries handle the crisis. All “Coffees with…” were organised using Zoom in May.
“As a platform of free speech and the open discussion we couldn't even imagine what results we were about to achieve. “Coffee with…” showed us that with just a bit of will and no budget at all we can all be part of something great. After hosting several events in April, we continued with US, UN, Netherlands, Sweden, EU ambassadors in Bosnia and Herzegovina being our guest speakers. This series of events finished with having RYCO Secretary-General, Đuro Blanuša with us talking mainly about youth. All of our guests promised that they will be our guests in live events sometime after this situation ends, so we are looking forward to hosting those events.” –
