YEU Project Developers Team - what is it about?
Fundraising and fund scouting are two key activities for every NGO as they allow not only to find financial sponsorship for their projects, but also valuable partners to cooperate with.
In fact, looking at the several foundations active in Europe, they clearly state to be available not only to sponsor but also to support projects with their extensive know-how.
There are lots of private donors in Europe (not surprisingly, some also in the US) willing to partner with youth NGOs but usually they don't accept direct requests: they use calls for applications to offer everyone the same opportunity to be financed as well as select the best applicants. Answering calls for proposals and targeting the specific requests of the donor is a main competence of fundraisers and project developers and has to be acquired mainly through practice.
Needless to say, the bigger an organisation is, the more important long-term financial planning gets; as YEU we currently have a quinquennial strategy to address the issue of diversification of funding sources.
One of those is the project developers team.
The Project Developers Team is an experiment we are currently trying to carry out as we strongly believe in capacity building of people within the network. Members of this group will learn how to assess the needs of their organisation, the specific aims of the project they want to present and finalise a high quality proposal.
As most people now are working with Erasmus+, project developers team will focus on that, at the same time leaving space to further explorance of other public and private donors.
The overall aim of this group is not just to ensure a proper turnover in YEU structures, yet mostly to allow our MOs to grow and keep expanding their activities with the support of proper donors suited to the projects' needs and objectives.
If you want to learn more about the several funding opportunities or to try and build up a proposal yourself, join the project developers group and start a new journey with us.
