Matej Manevski is newly elected member of Advisory Council on Youth
On April 18th 2015, during the Council of Members of the European Youth Forum (COMEM), YEU vice-president Matej Manevski was elected onto the Council of Europe’s Advisory Council on Youth, on nomination from YEU International.
His mandate starts in January 2016 and will last for two years, till end of December 2017. Matej Manevski was amongst 13 candidates elected on nominations from International Non-governmental Youth Organisations.
The Advisory Council on Youth is made up out of 30 individuals, 10 of whom are selected by Council of Europe and 20 elected by representatives at the European Youth Forum. They provide opinions and input on all youth sector activities and also ensure that young people are involved in other activities of the Council of Europe.
Within the Advisory Council on youth Matej aims to focus on Non-formal education and youth work, and as well on Human Rights Education, so they will be more recognized and mainstreamed around Europe.
Being part of the Advisory Council on Youth for the third mandate in a row, it's a great honor for YEU, but even a bigger responsibility. Till now Simona Jonas (2014-2015) and Bartolomeo Bufi (2012-2013) did an amazing job within the Advisory Council, so we want to thank them for their great work as well and hope that Matej will continue with the good representation.
