Youthful Mathematics at YEU's International Youth Convention 2012: VOLUNTEERING²+EMPLOYABILITY²=UNDERSTANDING²
This coming month Italy will be greeting the International Youth Convention, the biggest, most talked-about and highly awaited YEU event of it all! The YEU Convention has become some sort of a tradition within the network, for it has been organized since 1983 and every year it is held in different European country (hosted by YEU Member Organisations).
This year, the 31st International Youth Convention is organized by YEU International and hosted by MOs Affabulazione and Impronta Giovani, and will be going under the title "VOLUNTEERING²+EMPLOYABILITY²=UNDERSTANDING²". The main aim of the 31st International Youth Convention is to create a space for young people with disadvantaged background (different country of origin, religion, race, beliefs, age, gender, sexual orientations, disabilities, etc) in order to develop their competences by using different volunteering methods to increase and facilitate their inclusion in the society and employability.
The exchange will bring together 40 youngsters from 8 countries and will take place in 3 different venues: Bari, Roccamontepiano and Ostia/Rome. All the venues are great places to hold youth activities and participants will have the opportunity to meet 3 different local communities and see how local communities are dealing with the topic of youth participation, unemployment and volunteering and to share good practices.
So let the youthfully creative mathematics of the IYC 2012 begin!
