The biggest event in latest YEU history took place in Ukraine in Augusts 2010. The international Youth Exchange, 28th annual event in YEU history (since 1983.) gathered 85 participants from 25 countries under the hard task, to discuss and find possible solutions for mathematic equation: “Creative Mathematics in Multicultural Europe” Young People – (borders + barriers) = Peace + Understanding”.
The event was held in 3 locations: Lviv, Koblevo and Kiev and was supported by YEU Member organisations Foundation of Regional Initiatives and Institute of Ukrainian Studies and lead by Administrative Office, Core Team of 6 members with great support from 14 facilitators.
In the last stage of the event we met representatives of Ukrainian Ministry for Youth, Sport and Familly and presented outcomes of the event.
We faced several challenges starting with complicated logistical requirements, big plenary discussions with more than 80 participants and presence of participants with disabilities. It gave a new information and food for thoughts for upcoming events.
There will be more information from participants’ reflections in next Newsmail.
