M.R.I. Scan takes place in Larnaca, Cyprus
I was kind of afraid to get into a disagreement/fight before actually arriving in Larnaca on the 13th of April 2012, to participate in YEU Cyprus Training course “M.R.I. Scan (Mythology. Religion. Irreligion). Venus Rising? Jesus Resurrecting?”, a TC on interreligious dialogue. You see, religion is a delicate and personal matter, and despite the effort of remaining objective it can get pretty intense.
But the TC turned out to be one of the best experiences of my life! The teamwork of us participants was really amazing and we enjoyed all the activities that where so carefully designed and selected by our spectacular trainers. I gave a promise to myself to find out more about the different religions of this world and try to empathise and understand what leads the human kind into acting as they/we do.

The M.R.I. Scan was actually the follow-up project of the YEU Cyprus youth exchange “‘Merry Holy...Days! Celebrating our Religious Diversity” that took place in Nicosia at 2010. Both of the projects focused on inter-religious dialogue and brought together youngsters from the 3 monotheistic religions (Judaism, Islam and Christianity) plus irreligion. Despite such sensitive and personal topics as beliefs and faith being under investigation, no one was hostile or indifferent.
In my point of view, through different activities like role-plays, debates, and games, all the participants became more open-minded World citizens. This project somehow brought us out of our comfort zone. Moreover I would like to point out the result that we had already reached at the end of first project that the main aim of our religions is peace and love and therefore all existing conflicts are just politics. I am truly grateful for all the organizers and the supporters who made such project possible.
