Long term project for YEU co-funded by Youth in Action - Inclusive NFE!
The project to re-develop Eurogames2010 to involve more young people from disadvantaged groups, especially young people with disabilities in NFE, Youth Work and Volunteering is now well underway. The two year project co-funded by the Youth in Action programme started in May 2010 and will last until May 2012. The process to develop the new Eurogames2010 NFE resource started with an international youth exchange in the UK in August 2010.
The youth exchange involved young people with a variety of abilities and disabilities and aimed to test the original Eurogames published by YEU in
1993 and develop proposals for the new version of Eurogames2010 taking issues of accessibility into account.
In September a group of experts, including some of the young people who had been on the youth exchange met to draft the new Eurogames2010 introducing accessible games and defining quality assurance criteria for each game. Planned to be launched later in the year Eurogames2010 will be used to support, publicise and promote volunteering and non-formal education amongst disadvantaged groups of young people and youth practitioners who don´t normally use NFE.
Eurogames2010 will be officially launched in each of the countries participating in the project; Belgium, UK, Cyprus, Spain, Portugal and Spain in 2011 in seminars for Youth Practitioners where the Eurogames2010 will be distributed and made available online. 2011 will also see three training courses in Italy hosted by our partners the Italian National Youth Council to train youth practitioners from different fields in involving young people with different abilities in Non-formal education activities.
