EU Youth Conference in Warsaw
The European Youth Conference that took place in Warsaw, Poland from the 5th to the 7th September was the biggest youth event during the Polish Presidency in the Council of the European Union. The meeting, which was organized by the Ministry of the National Education, gathered young people and policy makers from 27 EU member states, candidate and EFTA countries as well as Eastern Europe and Caucasus states in order to collect young people’s recommendations about the Eastern dimension of youth mobility. Taking into account the number of YEU member organisations from these countries, this event was extremely crucial also for us. YEU-ish Marko Paunovic was one of the facilitators during this important event.
The EU Youth Conference is organised every half a year by each Presidency country. It is a space for young people to conclude on European consultations within the process of the Structured Dialogue. This year the Polish Presidency was willing to address the topic of participation as it is the main priority of
the trio Poland-Denmark-Cyprus as well as “Youth and the World”. Conclusions from the conference will be used for the resolution on the Eastern dimension of youth mobility adopted by Council of EU.
