Creativity in Activity: I have never, everâ€¦ been bored with you guys!
I probably expected something different from the training course "Creativity in Activity", taking into account that I'm an artist and I have connected the word creativity with other types of activities, but the truth is that I eventually got the knowledge and experience I truly needed. The training course organized by the RCLe and YEU International, was held in Leskovac and Belgrade (Serbia), from 8th till 15th of February and aimed to examine creative ways with which we can increase participation in youth activities. The sessions commenced with some team activities, such as finding the similarities and the differences between our organizations and the activities we have concerning youth participation. One main similarity was the problem of motivating youth to be active, and I guess that's the reason we were all participants in this TC - to improve the creativity and innovation in promoting youth participation.
On a personal level and as a volunteer, this was a great experience to learn not only from well - trained facilitators, but also from other participants who were more experienced in this field. After all, it's easier to be creative in a creative company. Using very interesting methods I learned a lot about the importance of the media, how we can successfully send and spread messages, how to be a good public speaker, as well as how important team work is. We were also introduced to the process of writing a project, finding funds and organizing advocacy campaigns. The most real experience to me was a simulation we had for fundraising where we actually had to create a project, present it to the Youth Ministry and ask for funds from them.

So, even though I may forget some information from this training course or some activity we had, I am pretty sure that every time I sneeze I will know I just thanked somebody in Lithuanian, when I hear the word “sex” I will think somebody said cheers in Estonian (terviseks!), when I hear the song "New York state of mind" I will always sing it to Baku, whenever I feel like marrying four men I would go to Romania and I will never, ever accept that Greece is in crisis!
