Open Call: support structure for the V cycle of the Structured Dialogue
The European Youth Forum (YFJ) has been invited by the upcoming European Steering Committee (see details below) to proceed to the selection of a support structure of facilitators for the fifth cycle of the Structured Dialogue. The support structure is composed of a pool of 9 international facilitators together with 9 facilitators from the presidency countries (3 from each Presidency country).
The tasks of the selected facilitators consist in preparing and facilitating workshops at the respective EU Youth Conferences of the upcoming Trio Presidency the Netherlands, Slovakia, and Malta.
Upon agreement of the Council of Education Youth Culture and Sports in November 2015, the thematic priority is likely to be “enabling all young people to engage in a diverse, connected and inclusive Europe”.
About the Structured Dialogue
The structured dialogue is a continuous process that brings together young people and policy-makers across the European Union to jointly discuss, formulate and put forward proposals for the development of youth policy at national and European level. The structured dialogue is implemented in work cycles of 18 months, each focusing on one topic (overall thematic priority), which is discussed by young people and policy-makers in all EU Member States. The results of these discussions serve as a common basis for the joint deliberations between young people and Ministry representatives from all EU Member States at the EU Youth Conferences, organized successively by each Presidency every six months. The policy proposals resulting from the EU Youth Conferences are then brought to the Member States in the Council of the European Union, which decide on whether to include them in Council documents setting common practices and standards for youth policy in the EU.
In order to coordinate the structured dialogue at EU level, a European Steering Committee will convene in regular meetings. This committee is composed of representatives of the Trio Presidency countries’ Ministries for Youth Affairs, National Youth Councils and National Agencies for the Youth in Action / Erasmus+ Programme, as well as representatives of the European Commission and European Youth Forum.
About the conferences
EU Youth Conferences are joint events organized by the Team Presidency countries with the support of the European Commission and the European Youth Forum, where representatives of national authorities, the European Commission, youth delegates from the national level as well as representatives from International Non-Governmental Youth Organizations and the European Youth Forum discuss together themes reflecting the overarching priority of “enabling all young people to engage in a diverse, connected and inclusive Europe”.
