Enter the net - CALLS FOR TRAINERS, ORGANIZER AND PARTICIPANTS
We are living in a globalized era, bombed 24 hours per day by messages, online events, social networks meeting and so on. Researches demonstrate that its global online population is composed by more than 2 billion people. In other words, around 30% of the total population of the earth uses internet, the vast majority of which is young people, especially between 13-64 years old. Most of the children in Europe begin to use the internet at the age of seven.
Yet, youth work indicates a significant hesitation in using the Information and Communication Technology (ICT). This indicator refers to the role of unified communications and the integration of telecommunications, computers, softwares and audio-visual systems, which enable users to access, store, transmit, and manipulate information.
It is true that the use of social media and video productions by youth organizations has been increased, but there are still a lot of things that can be done in the field. Youth work needs to be more flexible and adjust faster to the current reality of young people. YEU argues that the usage of ICT will enable youth workers and young people to speak the same language, to reach wider audience, to improve the quality of their work and thus achieve a greater impact on young people. For this reason YEU proposes a project which targets a precise group of people guided by both trainers and organizers. The involvement of both trainers and organizers will ensure a stronger impact on the organization and a holistic development of the digital competences of the youth organizations. It will make the organizations more creative, unique, modern and able the “Enter the net” with all the necessary competences!
Metaphorically speaking, this project represents the voice of many youth organizations that are looking forward to improve the quality of their youth work by enhancing their digital competences.
We already had one training course in Brussels, Belgium in March 2015, soon we will be joined by Andrea Ugrinoska, who will do her YEU internship on these topics. You also want to join us and discuss how to enter the net? Check these calls:
