30 years of YEU publication – last call for contributors
YEU history began in 1980 when a group of people decided to organize an international camp and get to know young people from other side of the border. In the time of Iron Curtain and Berlin Wall, everybody was dreaming about meeting people from the “other side”- to speak about simple things that make our daily lives as they are. And they did meet. And they did speak. And they realized we are all the same. Not even planning to do so, they have built something unique – Youth for Exchange and Understanding.
And it changed lives of many generations. Forever.
Today, YEU is based in Brussels, Belgium and has 33 member organizations all over Europe and North Africa. We are carefully building our future but not forgetting our roots and how we started.
In 2016, YEU will celebrate its first 30 years. We will also organize our 35th YEU Convention. On this occasion, we want to collect our memories – how did you get in touch with YEU, what did you do with us, what are your experiences? How long did you stay? What are the moments you will never forget?
Did it change your lives as it changed ours?
Tell us your story, help us put the pieces together. If you are interested to share your story, please let us know by sending e mail to: firstname.lastname@example.org and make sure you do it until end of June.
Let’s keep the YEU spirit alive!
