Support for people in Balkans
Online activism, media attention, usage of personal contacts, lobbying... Small steps that YEU International took when floods started in Bosnia, Serbia and Croatia. Worst floods ever recorded in history. Thousands of people in the region have been displaced, infrastructure doesn’t exist in many flooded areas and numerous lives are lost. Now the water is withdrawn, the rebuilding of the region will start soon and it will last for many years to come.
In this time of tragedy, it is up to us to prove that solidarity is not only an empty word in Europe. People in Balkans need our solidarity. The Governments and youth NGOs around Europe have the responsibility to act bearing in mind that people in Balkans will need our support after the state of emergency ends.
We are calling upon youth organizations throughout Europe to spread the word and help in mobilization of urgent help to affected areas.
