Raising a child is really learning by doing
Seems like YEU has reached the “baby” era. Last year on October 31st was born Ewa Jadwiga Rozmiarek who is the daughter of our YEUish Olga Stobiecka-Rozmiarek. At the moment she is fully committed mom and sure that living together with a baby is really learning by doing.
When Olga got the news that she is pregnant she was very very happy and shocked at the same time. “Simply the awareness that new life is under my heart caused shivers of excitement,” describes Olga. Millions of thoughts were passing through, most striking of them how to be a parent and what kind of mother she would like to be.
Ewa was an expected baby. Olga and her husband wanted to be parents and for them it was the right moment. She truly believes that an appearance of a new life is never an accident. According to African mythology children choose their parents and appear in the moment that is best for them.
Adjusting to the thought of becoming a mother was not hard but took some time. Olga is glad that nature is clever enough to give nine months for the parents to get ready and that her pregnancy was one of the most beautiful times in her life. “I had a lot of energy, like I got wings and could fly,” says Olga. She is also happy that Ewa motivated her to take some important decisions regarding her professional life, helped to close old chapters and open new ones.
Compared to Olga’s life before the baby for sure her life has changed although the biggest changes she can think of are the focus and rhythm of daily life. “Ewa rules now,” laughs Olga. In her opinion it is amazing to see how a small human being is growing and developing news skills and at the same time you need to find a way how to communicate with someone who has her own language. Olga says that being a mother has changed her perspective for life and it is a lot easier to choose the priorities now. She is appreciating every moment with her daughter and the joy and happiness is inexplicable.
