How Anna Zgkouri got to know YEU?
When I was asked to write about myself and my experience at YEU, I realized that it has been almost three months since I started working as a trainee in the organization and that the time this experience will finish is approaching. Mixed feelings came up.
First of all let me introduce myself. My name is Anna, I come from Greece and I moved to Brussels last January, it’s been already a year! The reason I left my country was studies. I hold a Bachelor in International and European Studies and I always wanted to do a Master. Now I am a student at Vrije Universiteit Brussels in the field of Communication Studies.
How I decided to become a trainee at YEU? Internship is part of my studies, so I was looking for a company or an organization with whom I could cooperate. Working for YEU was a challenge for me and I was really excited because it was my first job experience since I moved to Brussels. I had the chance to develop my skills and my knowledge and I met people that I really appreciate and I admire for their dedication to YEU.
The first day I started I was excited but also nervous, as we all are when meeting new people and making a new beginning in different environment. But that was only for a while, because when I met Tamara, Eleni and Chara they were so friendly, nice and helpful that made me soon feel that I was part of the group for a long time.
Everyday tasks were new challenges and opportunities to learn more and more new things. In my opinion YEU is a great place for young people to develop themselves and their creativity and to gain a valuable experience.
As I said it the beginning, in a few weeks my traineeship period will be finished. But I know that still there are much more to discover and I am looking forward the next Training Course in Lithuania!
Thank you YEU for this chance and I am glad to say that for me this internship is one of the most beautiful and fruitful experiences.
