EBA - European Badges Alliance

13/11/2016

EBA stands for European Badge Alliance, which is a strategic partnership of 9 organisations and institutions active in learning mobility and committed to the quality and recognition of learning and achievements using Open digital badges. Project EBA aims at using Open digital badges to innovate the recognition, validation and communication processes of key competences acquired by young learners and staff in non-formal learning contexts, especially through experiences of learning mobility abroad.

Through this project, we are on the way to offer a variety of badge systems for mobility learners and demonstrate even better that every learning counts. With the implementation of Badges, we can help the learners to capture their experiences and visualise their progress. Each Badge that is issued, it can create new opportunities for learners to advance their education, carreers and lifelong learning possibilities. Badges assist and empowers the process of showing what learners can achieve, what they are engaged into, where they need extra support.

Additionally, all mobility badges systems are linked to specific European instrument to validate and recognise learning (e.g. Youthpass, Europass Mobility Certificate, etc.). Therefore, Badges can communicate professional attitude and ensure quality of learning and recognition during the learning mobility period abroad. They add extra layer to learning experiences and add up to the professional profile and reputation of your organisation based on the standards and needs of the local, regionnal and European Community. These Badges enable to create professional networks and show to community what matters to you and/or your organisation. Endorsement can become a viable message of your values and culture you want to promote.

Out of this project we want young people and other organizations to follow-up and join our work, but also to see and trust how badges work to validate and recognise learning in specific types of learning mobility. This endorsement is valuable credential for learners. This can open various doors to them leading to further education, employment or lifelong learning.

JOIN the EBA Community by following up the website and become a partner @ http://ebawebsite.net/
