Along our lives, sometimes, we need changes. You could have a formal job, a family, however your body and mind is requesting for a 180 degrees twist.
So, my story starts as such. I am Paco Cabrerizo and I have a teacher's degree. I like education and it's topics and how they can influence young people. Beyond formal education and it's boundries, I have worked in differents youth associations and thanks to them I started to be curious in other formats of Education, such as Non-Formal education.
I have worked like a teacher for several years, but I wanted to open my horizons and to have other experiences, ideas and points of view. Therefore, thanks to a province´s grant which I earned, I am now part of YEU. Through the grant, I had the opportunity to start a 5-months-long internship in an organization that relates to my interests and that is based in EU. Searching information about Non-Formal Education, co-operation, human rights and respect between people, YEU International appears and caracterised as a "big association in the sector". That was the drigger which made me decide to start this new chapter of my life.
First, by getting in touch with their secretary general, Tamara Gojkovic, she and her partners gave me all the tools to "get to know" YEU and enter their “family”. Moving on and approving my application, they offered me a space to do an internship in their office, in Brussels. It is a big adventure for me.
Throughout this time, I want with my internship to improve my social and personal skills, get to go deeper and learn more about EU projects. At the same time, based on the work of YEU, I want to gain more knowledge about human rights, tolerance, education and it's formats and during this to also help my new “family” in all I can.
Will I manage? The time will tell to us.
