European Badges Alliance - 4th Meeting hosted by YEU
YEU as part of the EBA - European Badges Alliance project consortium, got the chance to host the 4th meeting of the process. Being on the second year of the project, a lot has been done and a lot had to be discussed.
With the opening, EBA Consortium recalled the terrorist attack in Brussels on the 22th of March 2016 - during the second meeting hosted by EFIL in Brussels. All partners share their condolences to the families of the victims and stand united against any similar actions of hate.
Related to the process, EBA is a project tackling the value and recognition of learning during international mobility with the use of digital Open Badges. Within the process, the consortium has further developed and tested the existing set of badges for International Youth Exchanges, Mobility of Youth Workers, EVS, Mentoring in EVS, Strategic Partnerships and has created frameworks and set of badges for VET and Long-term School Exhanges (including the sets created by YEU). AS YEU, we have created the set of Badges for International Facilitators, Junior Trainers, Senior Trainers, Organizers, International Training Activities and International Placements - Job Shadowing.
Within this process, the pilot testing continues in order to test all the above sets, collect feedback and further develop them in the best possible way. At the same time, the consortium also uses the feedback to make the hosting plarform better and to make this tool of self-assement more strong for providers and users. Besides making the tool better, the consortium also believes in the use of it as a mean for further recognition of educational activities including non-formal and informal education and also recognition of the learning taking place during international mobilities.
Furthermore, during the meeting all partners agreed on the finalization and presentation of Guidlines for Youth Workers and it is expected to be soon disseminated fully. Additionally, the meeting addressed management issues and also coordinated on the last part of the process. Within these last months, EBA will present all work done on the website, finalize the proper integration of the offered Certificate (which included all gained badges) within CVs and Europass and use all feedback from the testing (as mentioned) to develop properly all sets but at the same time to include outcomes on the Policy Recommendation paper.
Coming closer to the finalization of the process, the consortium also presented the final date for the Conference taking place in Brussels to present all results of the project, but also work with Youth Workers for understanding better all the outcomes. Thanks to EFIl and also under the coordination of YEU, all details are being taken care of and date and venues are booked.
As decided, the date of the Conference will be on the 27th of June 2017.
The event will be separated in two parts:
-Morning Presentation and discussion at the European Parliament
-Afternoon Session at MundoJ
