Building bridges in Alghero - Southern European Summer University
The “Southern European Summer University”, was organized in Alghero (Sardinia) by The Italian National Youth Forum – Forum Nazionale dei Giovani (FNG) from July 29th until August 03rd with participation of almost 50 youth leaders coming from all over Europe with participation of both National Youth Councils and International Youth Organizations.
National Youth Councils - NYCs and INGYOs play an important role in national and European societies. They represent and advocate for young people needs and proposals negotiating with national and international institutions for the social and political policies making and recognition. In SESU, they were working together for the same goals, principles and values.
And this is why SESU 2013 was a true example that cross-pillar cooperation is really possible. By working in three groups: Advisory Council – new mandate and priorities, Potential Statutory changes of European Youth Forum and Erasmus + - new youth programme, youth leaders started working towards the same goal: to set up common priorities in the advocacy process at the European and international level.
Cooperation is the only way to make the change and hopefully results will be more visible soon.
YEU is proud to be represented in SESU 2013 by our Secretary General, Tamara Gojkovic.
